Professor Gerald Pillay, Vice Chancellor & Rector at Liverpool Hope University, said: “The is an opportune time to host The Big Hope 2. The world is a very different place compared to when we first met ten years ago. Lasting connections were formed, delegates were inspired, and they challenged themselves to make the society around them a better place.

“Now is the time to see how far we have come and inspire the next generation of leaders to come forward and be counted. We are better together, which is why we are inviting partners to play a big part in shaping the programme.”

The original Big Hope was the University’s official contribution to the 2008 Liverpool European Capital of Culture celebrations and the European Parliament’s Year of Intercultural Dialogue.

A fundraising event took place in April 2018 to bring 12 young people from the West Bank in Palestine to the Big Hope 2 congress.
