Cafod- Share the Journey: take action on the refugee crisis

Inspired by Pope Francis’ special concern for migrants and refugees, at CAFOD we would like to invite you to Share the Journey and join us on a walk around the world.

To achieve our goal we are calling on you, parishioners from the Diocese of Lancaster, to play your own part in the campaign by organising a Share the Journey walk within your parish, or to simply encourage people to take part in a ‘Walk to Church Sunday’ during the ‘Week of Action’ which runs from 18-24 June.

Your walk can be as long or as short as you like, just remember to log your miles on our online totaliser once you’ve completed it.

Although the distance of your parish walk may be small, others across England and Wales are walking too. Together, we hope to walk 24,900 miles – the distance around the whole world. Our walks will be a gesture of solidarity, a chance to reflect and an opportunity to send a powerful message that world leaders need to step up to support people forced to flee. Together we’ll symbolically share the journey with those who have been forced to flee their homes.

All resources, including prayer cards, action cards and an organiser’s guide, are available to order free from our website.
